Sound

 ⋆˙⟡ The Listening Experience ✶⋆.˚

Welcome back, everyone! Let us get started immediately with today's topic!

Today, I will be detailing our plans for the sound design of our project:

Editing

For our project, everyone will be taking turns editing, and this includes the sound. We have not started editing yet, so I will just be talking about our plans for editing sound for the opener. First off, our editing software will be Capcut which is what we all have been using to edit previous videos, making everyone quite familiar with its easy-to-use interface. Furthermore, since we will ALL be working on the sound together, it is more logical to use the same application to edit our project in order to prevent any mishaps or miscommunication. Anyways, we will be splitting up the project into four parts for all of us to work on equally. This is just our plan for now, so do not be surprised at any changes we will make when we actually get into the thick of it!

Sound

Moving on to sound considerations, in the beginning, we will probably use melodic sound in order to show the viewer that nothing is wrong in the beginning with some sound effects of the trees swaying and the birds chirping. Furthermore, we will try to keep the non-diegetic sound to a minimum in order to preserve the realistic atmosphere and keep the audience unaware of what is to come! This will be used later on to create a stark contrast with the scenes that have discordant sounds that can be used to create an eerie feeling mixed with ambient sounds of movement which all adds to the suspenseful atmosphere during the parking lot scenes. Lastly, in the ending scene right before the film cuts off and Ivy is taken I think it will be fun to cut ALL sound from the opener in order to create a feeling of finality and drama. Thus, this will hook the audience in and make them wonder what happens next which is the purpose of a film opener!

Thank you, everyone, for reading my blog, and look forward to my next one! Peace out, Loungers!
