 Welcome to the analysis of OUR protagonist!

Today, I will be explaining the decisions behind our main character:

Physical Characteristics

         Ivy (who is played by Yiqi) is an ordinary teenage girl who is 5 feet and 4 inches (around 163 cm) and an Asian who wears black square-frame glasses with dark brown hair that slowly fades to lighter brown. She enjoys more casual and comfy laid-back styles of dressing hence the baggy black tee with graphics on it and oversized jeans. Furthermore, she wears white crewneck socks, chunky white sneakers (in scenes where she is outside), and a matching off-white graphic jacket (ALL of which looks stylish and trendy showing the viewer that she keeps up with what is popular). In addition to her outfit, the props that she is MOST associated with are her iPad and phone as she enjoys playing online games and chatting with people. All of this put together helps give a natural realistic story, making the events of this opener more believable to the audience. Moreover, the unsuspecting atmosphere alludes to something going wrong later on down the line as it is TOO peaceful for things to go well.

Personality

       Diving deeper into Ivy's personality and motivations, her penchant for online activities involving other people shows she is open to newer things and quite extroverted as her outgoing nature lands her into some HOT water. She is a pretty talkative person who has NO qualms with sharing personal information online and NO regard for boundaries as she has never learned about online safety or digital footprint. Her mental state throughout the film opener is just to make friends and hang out as she feels like something is missing from her life that can only be fulfilled through it. Although she already has stable relationships with the people in her life, she still craves a certain type of attention she cannot get from them, leading her to participate in risky behavior in order to fulfill that attention-seeking part of hers. Lastly, while she is psychologically fine and normal that does NOT mean she will not have her moments of irrationality which will make the audience question her sanity and decision-making skills at some point...
